Today was our "Science experiment" day in Homeschooling. One of my friends, who is also homeschooling all her kids, came over and we did an experiment with all nine of them. We make them go through the process of asking why, making predictions and then testing it out . Today we were creating Lava out in the mud beside our garden. My boys had been working on making volcanic mountains all week so I've had a few extra loads of laundry to do. The ingredient for this concoction of lava is: water, liquid dish soap, vinegar, food coloring and baking soda. So here they are putting it all together.
Next we wet outside to see if their predictions were right. A couple of them thought it would explode and the other thought it would just bubble over.
Just bubbling over won the prediction. Here Andrew is suggesting we add more baking soda to the next one to see if it does something different.
Do you see who all were up for a second round?
THE BOYS!
Now for the second round.
And of course they had to touch it.
